HUNTINGDON, PA. — Big plans are brewing for a big empty lot in Huntingdon County. It’s just been sold, but it already has folks talking about opportunity and more jobs. Officials in Smithfield Township have been hunting for a developer for the 35-acre plot of land for 10 years. Shaner Investments, a State College firm, bought the lot right off Route 26 for more than $500,000. Local economic development officials who sealed the deal have one thing in mind. [more]

Demolition Begins in Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN — Construction workers brought in the heavy equipment and by the end of the day Friday, most of the old Painter Stadium in Lock Haven was reduced to nothing more than a pile of bricks and rubble — not to mention a few special memories.
